July 14th 1962. The famous cabaret "Le Glamour" is in full swing. The enticing singer Lola-Lola starts a new singing tour: it's sold out. But surprise and disaster! In the basement, in the toilets run by the cantankerous Penelope, a corpse is discovered among the ladies. "We must absolutely make him disappear" shouts Mr. Paul, the panic-stricken director, as the room fills up... But who is the dead man? And above all: who committed this murder? The evening that begins is going to be much hotter and more agitated than expected... A play full of enigmas where absolutely nothing will happen as one might have imagined.
Between farce and police investigation, this comedy goes beyond the traditional boulevard comedy.
Les tontons farceurs pays tribute, through punchy lines, to the crazy world of Michel Audiard... in the style of Agatha Christie.
