    WHEN THE SEA ...
Scientific studies are formal, the rise of the water threatens our coastline and some of our living spaces. Even if humanity maintains a warming at 1.5 ° C, the sea level will continue to rise and nibble a part of the territories for centuries. Floods and storms will become the daily life of the French.

On the other hand, if warming reaches 3°C or more, an estimate predicted for the end of the century if carbon dioxide emissions are not controlled, the water level could rise very significantly by two or even three meters. Some regions, some urban areas will be totally submerged. In New Aquitaine, this is the case of coastal cities such as La Rochelle, Rochefort, Bordeaux and Anglet.

We are all concerned! Even if part of the carbon dioxide already released will remain in our atmosphere for centuries, there is still time to act and contribute to limit the peril.

Members of a regional photographic club, Image'In Périgny, we have realized personal series around the theme of marine submersion. Our work has been guided and enlightened by Philippe Hirsch, professional photographer, passionate about environmental protection.

To exhibit this photographic work is, we hope, to participate in the sensitization of the visitors. Through the force of the images, we wish to awaken certain emotions, to feed a questioning, to show and even divert sometimes the reality of the destructive work of the ocean and to let imagine the prints which we will leave under water.
