Ciné-conférence - En route vers Compostelle

The film begins with the Via Arverna, a little-frequented itinerary that starts in Clermont-Ferrand and leads through Auvergne and Quercy to Cahors, via Rocamadour. Then the journey continues on the original route, the famous and mythical Camino Francès, a major itinerary leading pilgrims from the Pyrenees to Santiago de Compostela.
Feeling one's body, entering a landscape, rubbing shoulders with the elements, walking the long way means forgetting schedules, hierarchies and worries, confronting the whims of the weather and the unknown of encounters. It also means having the time and availability to ask ourselves: who are we, what do we want, what does life mean to us?
As early as the 11th century, pilgrims from all over Europe made their way to Santiago de Compostela. The current success of this pilgrimage is not so much a fad, as its rediscovery by a society in search of meaning.
